Grease Trap Installation for Restaurants and Food Service
Every restaurant, commercial kitchen, and food-service operation in North Georgia is required to keep grease out of the sanitary sewer. Stuart The Plumber installs both under-sink hydromechanical grease interceptors and larger in-ground gravity grease traps, sized to your fixture count and local plan review. We coordinate with your kitchen equipment layout so plumbing, gas, and hood work all land where they need to.
Grease trap questions we get
- How do I know what size I need? Sizing is based on drainage fixture units of your kitchen equipment and local code. We calculate it against your plans and get plan review comments handled.
- Under-sink or in-ground? Small kitchens and coffee shops usually work with a properly sized under-sink unit. Full-service restaurants generally need in-ground, especially when a health inspector or municipality requires it.
- Will you coordinate with my GC and equipment installer? Yes — we plan for equipment discharges, dishwasher tempering, and pre-rinse locations up front.
- What about existing kitchens? We can retrofit interceptors when a health department cites you or when you’re expanding your menu.
